Today's Jammer highlight is about our new morning work! We have begun a writing journal called Ms. Joyner's Morning Message. Students begin their day the same as usual, by making their lunch order, unpacking their book-bag, using the restroom and washing their hands, but then when they have handed all of their business is when they begin their BRAND new writing time. Students copy the morning message from the SMARTboard. Each message is a different letter written from me. It is in letter format, and students can choose to illustrate whatever they would like on the top of their journals. Here is an example of today's morning message
Today I added graphics to the top to facilitate ideas pertaining to the letter. Each day has a different content focus. Here is my morning message topic schedule:
Monday- Reading
Tuesday- Math
Wednesday- Sight Words
Thursday- Unit
Friday- English Language Arts
This week they have really been a big hit! We will see if they remain popular with the students as we continue, but I feel that they seriously enjoy this outlet to express themselves!
